Andrea Kirby, MRL IT, EPP Program Director, Account Management WWL, KDKM, GCI, AM
Andrea Kirby is leading the overall External Partner Program at Merck as well as leading IT Account Management for World Wide Licensing, Knowledge Discovery/Knowledge Management, Global Competitive Intelligence and Alliance Management. She has been at Merck for 12 years. Prior to her current position, Andrea held positions in MRL IT supporting Business Development, Regulatory Affairs, Animal Health as well as Consumer Care. Andrea's interests lay primarily in driving operational efficiencies within MRL IT as well as cross divisional across Merck. Global externalization and collaboration and data exchange is a key aspect in preparation and maintenance of professional relationships and engagements. She is driving adoption of a more collaborative work environment and processes including future strategy to position Merck as a global partner of choice. She is very interested in innovation and new technologies supporting Merck’s preparation for the future by remaining objective, agile and open minded.

Andy Porter, Director of Enterprise Architecture
Andrew Porter is a Director of Enterprise Architecture for Merck & Co., Inc. He currently serves as the lead architect for the External Partner Program (EPP), with responsibility and oversight of all architectural activities for the program. As an enterprise architect within Merck Research Labs, his technical focus areas include the implementation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Enterprise Knowledge Management (EKM) solutions. Aside from leading architecture for EPP, Mr. Porter also provides architectural alignment and guidance for overall MRL operations, including worldwide licensing. Prior to working within MRL, he was an enterprise architect in the Enterprise Technical Services organization, where he was accountable for the creation and management of the EKM reference architecture, as well as platform planning for the EKM and Collaboration organization. Mr. Porter has over 15 years of Pharmaceutical industry experience. Prior to Merck, he worked at Biovail Pharmaceuticals, filling various roles from enterprise architect and managing operations to network engineering and running the Enterprise Information Management group.

Tom Johnson our Sr. Director of Product Management, Life Sciences, Exostar
Tom Johnson brings over 25 years of experience guiding process improvement, managing technology deployment, and directing program teams to his position as Senior Director/Product Manager Pharma & Life Science Services at Exostar. Exostar powers secure business-to-business information sharing, collaboration, and business process integration throughout the value chain.

In his current role in the Security and Collaboration Solutions organization, Tom leads the company’s Life Sciences business collaboration program and directs the development and implementation efforts of the platforms’ mobile device access and information protection solutions. Exostar’s SharePoint based collaboration solutions provide over 40,000 users in more than 550 companies worldwide with the security, functionality, scalability, and performance they require to effectively share information with their partners, suppliers, customers, and other third-parties.
