Dicerna IPO Proves Investor Interest in RNAi

Boston Globe | Dicerna Pharmaceuticals, a Watertown-based company developing RNA interference therapies, showed the largest first-day gains in share price for any company since 2005 when it went public on Thursday.
February 3, 2014 | Dicerna Pharmaceuticals, based in Watertown, MA, pulled in $90 million last week in its initial public offering. Dicerna is working on RNA interference-based therapies, beginning with indications for liver disease, various cancers, and primary hyperoxaluria, a genetic disease that can lead to kidney failure – all currently in preclinical phases. Dicerna's share price rose over 200% over the course of the day, the largest first-day gain for any company since 2005, demonstrating an appetite for gene silencing technologies among investors.
