Elastic Storage automatically assesses how often data is accessed, reserving an organization's fastest storage resources for the most frequently-used data. IBM has been using a memory infrastructure similar to Elastic Storage internally for its Watson supercomputing program, and is now making the system available to customers both as software and as a cloud-based service.
