May 13, 2014 | The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard has announced layoffs of 27 employees involved in contract work for the NIH-funded Molecular Library Probe Center Network. This program, which gave the Broad steady contracts performing small molecule screens, came to a close at the end of April. A representative of the Broad reports that overall the Institute is still growing, led by philanthropic donations and interest in therapeutic research programs. Boston Globe
